Are you living the formula?

D + CFT = B = LC

Here is the short version:
Decisions + Committed Follow-Through = Breakthrough = Life Change

This weekend as we wrap up our series on Finances…Blessed or Stressed, you will have the opportunity to make a commitment that will lead to a spiritual breakthrough and life change!

See you this weekend… (if you want the longer version keep reading)

As I reflect on every significant season/category of life, there appears to be a formula at play. I become aware, or curious, about life as it is now versus what it could possibly become. I then begin to notice possible paths that may lead me closer, step by step, toward that preferred future…but NOTHING happens until I put the formula into action. The category could be dating, marriage, physical health, financial health, spiritual health, etc…

It starts with a DECISION… “I am going to change.” This decision normally comes as a result of two things:
  1. 1. I’ve learned enough to realize there is more to life than what I currently have
  2. I’ve hurt enough to realize I’m not going to continue with life as is (I have found most people change because we are sick and tired of being sick and tired)

After the DECISION, you must add COMMITTED FOLLOW-THROUGH on a daily basis.

D + CFT = BREAKTHROUGH…a new way of thinking and daily living have merged…now we are in the process of breaking through to a new way of living.

As we continue down the path, we finally experience = LIFE CHANGE

As a Christian, Christ is present and at work each and every step along the way… guiding, speaking, encouraging, strengthening…

I believe this weekend will be life changing for many.

See you soon,
Pastor Ken

Week 3 is here...you do not want to miss it!

This weekend’s teaching is one that I have been looking forward to sharing since summer. I have been praying more intently this past week than ever before and I’ve asked our church elders to pray with me. Now, I am asking you to pray.

I believe, to the core of my being, significant “spiritual connections” will occur this weekend. I’ve been praying lives, marriages, families, and legacies will be different for all eternity, as a result of our time together. You do not want to miss it…make it a priority to be here.

See you soon,
Pastor Ken

PS. Don’t forget our Christmas shoeboxes are due this weekend! For more information, go to cypresschurch.tv and click the MAKE A DIFFERENCE slide on the homepage.

What separates some from the pack?

In any relationship (parenting, marriage, friendship, working, etc.), there are often many “exchanges” that take place. Normally, there is a small handful of guiding principles that contribute to, and determine, the overall success or struggle of the given relationship.

In money matters, there are several points of teaching, but the Bible addresses two dominant, strategic steps to take in order to break free and move from a stress-filled life to a blessed life. Come ready to learn from the author of life itself. If anyone would know the best possible way to enjoy life, it would be God Himself.

I’m looking forward to worshiping with you this weekend,
Pastor Ken

PS. Oregon lost…good for our Buckeyes!!

The Life Money Can't Buy...

A few weeks ago we all watched the “Government Shutdown and Fiscal Cliff Crisis” play out on national television each night. Regardless of your political persuasion, our nation’s financial policies and practices would bankrupt the average American household in a matter of no time. So the question is, “Who, or what, should be our guide for financial matters?”

Money and our thinking regarding finances, as well as our daily interactions regarding financial matters, affect so much more than our mere bank accounts. Personal levels of peace, the ability to be used by God to help others, and much more, are often times boiled down to how we interact with money and possessions. In terms of your financial situation, are you Blessed or Stressed? I’ve known rich people who were stressed beyond measure, and I’ve known people of modest means who will tell you they were blessed beyond comprehension. Therefore, blessed or stressed must not be exclusively about how much, or how little, we have.

During this four week series, we will be diving into Scripture to examine the clear teaching from Christ regarding our finances. The Bible teaches two paths in life regarding our finances. One path leads to the Blessed Life and the other to a Stressed Life. I believe each of us may dip one foot on either side, but the majority live on one side versus the other.

Join us this weekend as we discover the Blessed Lifethe life money can’t buy, but it sure can hinder!

See you this weekend!
Pastor Ken
